My Generac has a plastic tank from the factory and never had any rust or cracks or leaks. I converted to Propane because the gas was always old and stinking when I needed it . Always at the worst time .

My thought is 45 degree street elbows, two of them threaded together per cylinder will make a nice swing joint and can correct the most random angle I have worked with.

Looking at the diagram the diodes will allow current go from a bad switch to the coil and for sure will burn it out, smell the coil and see if they stink like East Chicago . I have burnt a few with test light probe touching two terminals together.
