I tried engaging the pto on my xt2. It didn't want to go but I pushed it down. It didn't engage the blades. couldn't find any reason why so went to utube. What I found there is that if you force the pto lever, you will bend it. Which will require another lever. So at this point I ordered a new lever. Watched some how to install videos. Got the new lever and installed it. Now I tried to engage the pto/blades and it still only goes down about half way? So Is there something on the deck that is out of kelter? The cable is fine. without the deck cable connected. the lever moves the whole distance. What should I be looking for? Thank you.

model number 13APA1CS010 Serial Number 1G275H30097. thank you.
Part #28 The idler pivot bracket is where to start looking. Debris builds up and binds the mechanism from moving in a swinging arc motion. Next item is #30 The cable bracket.

Thank you. We have already fixed part #30 earlier this summer. So looking at the schematics, we could have a long list of worn out parts. 21,19,10,28. I will remove the deck again and take that section apart. I can see how just a bit of wear and things kink up. Thanks again.

Well the deck is fine. I did change the bolt and washers, since I had to torch the bolt. However, as I was removing the deck I was checking the lever action to see when it was not bound. Turns out the spring that mounts to the lever bracket is what is restricting the movement. Once you remove that spring, the lever will travel the length of the slot. With it on, you can move the lever 2 inches. When I was doing the initial tear down. I failed to disconnect the spring. Fortunately, I was able to use my face as a tool to stop the lever from flying back. The spring became disconnected from the top and bottom. I found only one reasonable place for the spring to attach on the top. Where the manufacturer stamped a V into the top of the box frame. I see no where else for it to connect. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.
