This just happened to me Saturday, no warning whatsoever. Running fine, shut mower off to do some other things, then came back to do some more work and engine was locked up solid on my Cub Cadet XT1 LT with 7000 series KT725. Don't understand what point there is having an oil pressure switch if there's not an audible warning (I don't have the optional information panel) or auto shut down. Opened the hood and oil filter was covered with oily dirt and dust as was the frame below it, none of that is visible with the hood shut. Oil filter was a full 3/4 turn or more loose. Pushed mower into my shed, pulled plugs and put 2 full squirts of oil in each cylinder then reinstalled plugs just shy of fully seated. Good thing mowing season is done for me.
I've been wrenching engines over 55yrs and have never had a properly installed oil filter, on anything, loosen on it's own before. Pretty dang disgusted.
