Troy Bilt Pony 2016 won't turn over

Yes if you push throttle a the way up it activates the choke. However I have the engine cover off so I can see the throttle move and the choke is definitely not engaged. Even at 7/8 throttle and running fine if I engage the blades it instantly bogs down. I am going to check the flywheel key to see if it has moved. Also going to recheck the valve lash as the compression was 140.
If the engine runs good at all RPMs except WOT with blades on, then the flywheel key is fine.
 
Let's see here; off load these engine runs off the high idle circuit. Its only when the engine under a load it switches to the main jet. So it sound a incorrect main jet or failing ignition coil. And I had some pretty ignition coils failures this year.

Main jet per IPL is a 1.15mm. Since Briggs is no longer marking the jet they could shipped the wrong jet in the correct packaging. That particular jet I did record its size before they stopped marking them. They simply didn't want us re-jetting the carbs.

Now if you have a numbered drill set or at least the #56 you can check it as the #56 is just tad over 1.18mm [1.1811]. If it fits then the jet is wrong size.

Now there are couple smaller jets that might work. But first inspect that bowl spaghetti gasket for defects. I have gotten them with defects.

Now my chart only covers jets that I used as no one else would help expanding it. It was apparently too much of a brain overload to help.
 
If available, one could, reluctantly, take the proper size as Star Tech is saying and as the Okies say woller out a high altitude jet too. If the main jets are NLA, look for HA jets.

And before attempting adjusting the float is parallel to the carb body when the carb is inverted. If parallel no adjustment is need.

Okay as I said in my original post I don't normally work on riding mowers. This is only the 2nd Nikki carb I have encountered. That being said, I am an idiot. I was watching a YouTube video about Nikki carbs and found out I had the jet in upside down. So I turned it around and it runs great. Live and learn. Thanks for all the help.
