No voltage at PTO clutch wiring harness - Cub Cadet LT1040.

The PTO wire got loose at the pulley, and the red wire got cut. I stripped the wire and taped it back together, and it worked, but i didn't secure it good enough, and it broke in the same spot. Taped it again, and secured it with zip ties... worked fine for about 2 minutes, then the blades shut...

Help finding walbro carb rebuild kit on 2006 LT1040 18hp courage.

Bought mower used, and have been fixing it up. Float/needle is leaking... i can hold it upside down and still suck air through the gas inlet when it is supposed to be closed. I am trying to find a rebuild kit that will work... new needle and maybe seat i guess, if a new needle doesn't fix it...

Question about buying non-running mowers to repair.

I learned how to completely tear down and rebuild a lawnmower engine a few years ago, and since then have used that knowledge to diagnose and repair several of my own mowers, as well as some of my friends mowers. I have accumulated a modest collection of spare parts (frames/starters/etc.) from...

Cheaper alternative to the carb bowl screw gasket?

Finishing up my first rebuild and only have a leaky carb left to fix. I replaced needle/seat but it still leaks. Took it off the mower and tested on the bench with a gas tank hooked up, and it didnt leak so the needle and seat are seemingly ok. all i can think of is that maybe the float gets...

Brake disc stuck... how can i remove it?

Success! Ended up getting a 3 jaw puller from auto zone and it was a perfect fit for this thing... luckily there was enough space to get all 3 jaws behind it without modifying anything: It wouldnt hardly budge at first, and i was cranking down on it pretty hard with a socket wrench. At one...

Clutch wont disengage drive belt on lawnmower.

murray mower, model unknown (sticker unreadable) When you press down on the clutch, isn't the drive belt supposed to stop turning? I cant get it to stop being spun even when the clutch is fully depressed. I even took the tensioner pulley off to make it extra loose, and it still turns. It's a...

Brake disc stuck... how can i remove it?

murray mower, model unknown I'm trying to take the brake off and the disc isnt budging. Tried hitting it pretty hard with a hammer, but wanted to check here before i really go to town on it. first of all, isn't it supposed to just slide off? if so is there a better way to do it than smacking...

Can i reduce valve clearance/lash by lapping?

Hi, this is my first engine rebuild and it's a briggs 12.5 HP (285707-0113-01). Had a broken connecting rod and am putting everything back together and am to the point of checking the valves. My intake valve is ok, but the exhaust valve is at .014 and it is supposed to be no more than .011...

Do the oil seals on a briggs lawnmower engine sit flush with the housing?

Briggs engine model 285707 It's a 12.5 (i think) HP, L head engine. My first teardown and rebuild... do the oil seals (one on blade side, and one on flywheel side) go all the way to the bottom, or do they sit flush with the engine housing at the top? Here is a picture of each seal sitting...
