yes, spray some berrymans into the carb to see if it starts for a second. Make sure you haven't forgotten an on-off gas valve. Check the oil level. Make sure there is not a second ignition switch like my Kohler engines and one B&S engine have.

not piling on. A simple volt ohm meter from your local Harbor Freight, or Amazon is the first thing you should buy rather than fire the parts cannon. You can have a bad part or a chewed wire. The parts cannon will bring on a great frustration if all you do is keep firing it.

spark distance gets smaller with compression, meaning that it takes higher voltage as compression goes up. I agree with what Ilengine wrote, and/or possibly a defective spark plug or plug lead that is breaking down at higher voltage if it was not replaced.

Coil would be my next thought. You can get a spark tester, leave it on and see if the spark intensity diminishes when it starts to bog. If not then maybe tight valves. This assumes the blade is sharp etc..
