Its no secret that I think the Cub GT2000 is by far, hands down the best value on the market for lawn/garden tractors and I thought the best way to illustrate this is by doing some research on the important stuff in any mower. So to start I selected the transmission and as a basis of comparison...

I am trying to get some facts on the Deere transmissions used in the above series, the JD site states that in the 300 series the Tuff Torque K58B is used but I am unable to find any specific info on the X500 series other than that in the upper models the drive has a replaceable internal filter...

Listening to my neighbor engage the deck on his new JD (big box model-but I have heard this on dealer versions also) got me to thinking about this-the engine must have lost at least 1/2 the rpms as the deck was first engaged, then it quickly came back up to operating speed, my Exmark Quest...

Finally got rid of my problem prone, poor mowing zt for a CUB CADET. A dealers brother wanted a zt, I wanted to get rid of a zt and a deal was struck, major financial hit but it was worth it for me. Picked up the Cub Cadet GT2000 yesterday, mowed with it yesterday and its nothing but thumbs...

I found something unusual today, an old portable water jet outboard, about 5 hp, made by a company called 'Propulsion Technologies', would like to find out about the engine and Company, any suggestions?

This has to be the smoothest, nicest gasser on the planet-trouble is one needs very deep pockets or a very generous unused credit limit to be able to enjoy one near as I can figure the engine alone is pushing 4 large.....I simply must acquire one of each, gas and diesel :biggrin:

Or is 259* or so really 'hot' for a mower engine. Found alot of pics someone posted on his brand new Cub 2000 and this tractor looks like alot of quality for a very reasonable price. I cannot find where this fellow posted so I cannot see responses-or I am presuming that all these pictures were...

Are there any significant differences between the Kohler Command and Command Pro, is there an inherent advantage, disadvange for having a horizontal v vertical design in a riding tractor? Only two makers, Cub in thre 2000 series and higher and Deere in the x530 and higher offer 'serviceable'...

Does anyone know what they are?

A dealer is selling new Snapper Pro S50X's, 48" deck, Kawasaki FX and ZT 3100 drives for $4,600-which anyone who has been pricing knows is a whole lot of machine for the very short dollar-UNLESS Chinese components are being used. If anyone knows the lowdown on these mowers I would appreciate...
