Briggs and Stratton Warped PLASTIC Intake Manifolfd

Ok Guys, I was not keen on sanding that flat surface so a trip to the machine shop is how I fixed up my plastic manifold … I then treated the plastic with Loctite 770 and used Caster Epoxy (and two stainless steel rods) across (bridging) the gaps to ensure the mating surface stays flat in the...

Briggs and Stratton Warped PLASTIC Intake Manifolfd

That's all good but these are just lawnmower engines and many people working on them don't have such tools (yes I do). The problem is really with Brigg's choice of materials and not the guy just trying to get his mower going. Anyway one Aluminium Manifold is now a quarter the cost of a whole...

Briggs and Stratton Warped PLASTIC Intake Manifolfd

I'm kinda surprised that no one here has tried to sandpaper the plastic manifold flat? ... I'm just trying to find out if that actually holds up over time?

Nikki carb OE4215 jet size for Generac 27hp

Sorry, I'm not sure if I recalled this correctly, as this guy says the larger jet is on the "R" side. Anyway, I know they're correct on my engine because I've checked the temperatures on the cylinders, and they are close to the same.

Nikki carb OE4215 jet size for Generac 27hp

I'm working on a B&S 25HP, Nikki at the moment. So with a lots of magnification I read 111 and 114 ... 111 on the "R" Side (Cylinder 1) of the Carb .... Get these the wrong way round and Cylinder 1 runs a lot hotter than Cylinder 2

    Engine Blast

Most of this makes sense and has already been covered above. But there is no way an engine that's had a blown head gasket and has been overheating comes cleans with simple soap and water. "People's priorities" are of their choosing. And it's not a crime to "Wonder" (and discuss) if...

    Engine Blast

So what's your thoughts on spraying the cylinder heads fins and rocker cover cans with black engine enamel?... Would that help with heat dissipation?

    Engine Blast

Hi all, I'm currently rebuilding a 25HP V-Twin and before I put it all back together I want the case and cylinder cooling fins to be clean and bright aluminium. So I was wondering if anyone has shot, sand or glass blasted their V-Twin case before and what type of aggregate did you use for best...

    Gradually Overheating?

Ok today I've compared the thermocouple measured temperature with the laser type temp tester. The thermocouple actually measured about 4 degC lower (rather than higher) but that was just midday temperature (with the engine not running), so maybe thermocouples inaccuracies are not constant from...

    None yet, sorry

    Gradually Overheating?

Yes, thanks again, all clear, for sure ... Actually, this same point has been coved two or three time now. I guess that's the problem with long threads like this one, because none of us have the time to read all the previous posts.

    Gradually Overheating?

Oh right, I get what you mean now ... thanks for your thoughts on that.... But yes they were clear, maybe because I often use a compressed airline (over the whole engine), underneath those cylinders, where the exhaust pipes comes out. I've been away from home for some time but next time I've...

    Gradually Overheating?

I’ve rebuilt a few of these engines but I’ve never seen those rocker cover tins full of dirt. Assuming the tins are fitted correctly How would the dirt get in there? Oh Ok I get it now … no they are completely cl No sorry Ive not had time to do that as I’m currently travelling.
