intake lift rod not moving that much

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you all. The grass was starting to slow its growth and so I was using my walk behind to take care of the areas that are still green (and get a bit of well-needed exercise) So, the one that isn't moving much is on top and I expect it to be the exhaust, NOT...

intake lift rod not moving that much

I have a B&S Model 331777 for my Craftsman 917.28822. I noticed the other day that it was running a little rough, mostly at full throttle. Power would dip from time to time. I took off the valve cover, pulled the spark plug, and rotated the crack shaft both lifters moved but the intake was...

Piston hit intake valve on ETQ generator. Need new head?

So, I also noticed the intake also doesn't have a "ROTATOR,VALVE" (or that little cap that is in between the end of the valve stem and the valve rocker) on the intake. I did some searching and found that while Briggs & Stratton did have that for both intake and exhaust, the Generac did not...

Piston hit intake valve on ETQ generator. Need new head?

Thanks for your suggestions. I got a new head, valve, and retainer. I lapped the valves and will be putting it all back together this weekend. I'm still very surprised that only the exhaust has the retainer SO....dumb question time. Why is this only on the exhaust? I haven't put that together...

According to the manual, when setting LO.... 1. Turn screw fully clockwise. 2. Turn counter clockwise 1 1/4 turn 3. Warm up engine for 3 mins...

Piston hit intake valve on ETQ generator. Need new head?

Thanks. Lots to take in there so I've got some follow up questions if you have the time to answer them. First off, his it the manual with parts list (https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/cd/cd041a72-f464-449d-8177-d232aac1c386.pdf). This might make it easier for use to ensure...

Piston hit intake valve on ETQ generator. Need new head?

Hey all, Well, my ETQ TG52T42 generator, with only 52 hours ?on it, seems to have suffered from the piston slamming into the intake valve. Since the piston seems to not have any issues, I can only assume there must have been a valve guide failure, causing the valve to fall into the head. In any...

Using steel lift rods instead of aluminum

Hey all, I have a broken intake pushrod with my Intek/Briggs&Stratton 331777. About 2 years ago I blew the head gasket. I fixed it and all was well until about 2 weeks ago when aluminum intake rod broke in half. I took off the head and pull the pushrod out, which had broken right in half...

Repairs Using steel lift rods instead of aluminum

Hey all, This is my first post here but not my first issue with my Intek/Briggs&Stratton 331777. About 2 years ago I blew the head gasket. I fixed it and all was well until about 2 weeks ago when aluminum intake rod broke in half. I took off the head and pull the pushrod out, which had broken...
