    Hi all thanks to a very good youtube video I have found the fault. The main jet had fallen out so there was no control on the mixture. Luckily I have found the jet with its o ring but its loose in the hole, so ether the o ring or the jet body is worn.

    Hi Thanks for your reply . The valve clearance is Very close to what it should me. The choke is completely open. I was unaware that the float level could be altered But I will have a look. eddie
