I have a Toro ride on mower and when new I had a lot of slow and not so slow punctures due to thorns from hedge cuttings. Nightmare. Then I put Goop in the tyres and it totally solved the problem. Not had a puncture now for 15+ years.

Or at least store the spout in a plastic bag to keep insects out.

I would clean out the fuel tank, the line to the filter and any fuel switch in that path. Twice I've had bugs get in and mess with the fuel flow. They were big enough to partially block the fuel flow at the exit from the tank and at the switch. Replacing the filter alone may not be enough...

When you fitted a new clutch a year ago was the bolt tightened up to the correct torque? Did you follow the instructions on conditioning the clutch before use (typically engaging the clutch 5 times at low/mid engine rpm). The makers say they can wear out prematurely if you don't get this right...
