trying to find the time to have a go at the carb again as im thinking its still that thats the problem but if this way is the right way just out of intrest if i put the metal vertical that would give me some ajustment would that work ?as long as the spring and bar does not fowl the other spring...
the seal is prob rubber and spraying with carb cleaner poss has damaged it
as above yes replace the carb im assuming for £13 bucks its aftermarket but if it gets it running it will do
if me id then buy the service kit once you know its working and proved its fine and rebuild the original...
It's just that the metal cant really be adjusted it's got no movement there if it was mounted vertical up you could then move it
Is it possable to have a pic of your ariens mower carb set up at all ?
its this bit that dont seam right its looks a bit of a made up bit as the pdf does not show any thing like this in the linkages they all seam to be attacted to a plate that is bolted on the top of the 2 long uprights
could this metal have been just put on wrong ? or mounted in a differant...
this i recived non working itsd been played with as there was a few nuts and bolts missing from around the carb exhaust area so before i got it
bit of info to help i removed the carb and gave a quick clean and replaced cheaked the oil was at the right level took off the exhaust put new fuel...
Thanks for the reply bud seen the reply and set them up but after doing all that the engine now starts but pops and farts alot I'm going to do a compression test later today with luck and see if throwing a bit of oil in the bore sees a difference
Thanks for any help please I'm in the middle of cheaking out the reason why my mower stopped done all the normal servicing etc and ended up taking the head off and it's all coaked up in there so doing a bit of an overhaul and I need to know the valve clearances on a briggs and stratton series...

On the exploded view its not easy to see how to remove have been told Need to remove as a whole unit and then dismantle

I need to remove one screw from the plastic it's just spinning and u need to remove it to make a justment
And the pull cord mech does not always seam to work right I ssume when you pull it throws out the teeth to spin the motor it will work most...
Hi got the engine number at last I think this might tell us more about the mower and found m4 major on another part of the handle engine number in pic it was printed on th air filter witch is why I took so long finding it
Yes it could be confusing so will start with the generater

hi just fell in luck went round a mates to get 2 tyres fitted and the said he was clearing out his garden of the metal bits said he had been keeping it to long and the scrap value hit rock bottem and not worth him driving around to get rid or do any thing with them
