be cautious about running the trimmer at half throttle because two strokes are only fuel tuned properly at idle and full throttle and may cause a lean condition at mid throttle leading to catastrophic engine failure.

Does it produce so much noise to warrant noise manufacturer? If your neighbors have not yet complained, maybe you should still hang in there. A mower is not supposed to be quiet after all.

Good point sir, hehe. Maybe I am the one complaining. It's my neighbor that does the grass trimming. Lawns here are not flat so we use trimmer, especially in corners. I like quiet. But yes, other neighbors are OK with it. But also maybe the quality of engine is not good. Neighbor is a friend. We talk.

One of the manufacturers of gas concrete cutoff saws was having problems with engine failure at a certain. contractor. Come to find out they where running them at half throttle cutting plastic pvc pipe. the saw runs lean at half throttle (carbs are not set up with a intermediate fuel flow) and the slower operating speed lead to overheating.

The implication is that the people operating the saws didn't know what they were doing.

I can think of another reason not to go under load at less than full throttle [applicable to chainsaws]: the saw will be more likely to grab or kick back if the chain is spinning slowly -- always bring a chainsaw engine to full speed before beginning to cut.

Wow that is SO true... I have seen the results of folks that have had bad experiences with kick back... very nasty... KennyV

Buy cheap rubbish and you get a lot of Noise,,,,,,Buy Quality.......check the noise levels ........only a Fool would operate a noisy Whipper Snipper.......the Fine is Extreme in Australia......wake up.

My echo is so much quieter than my old home light i also had a "weed eater" brand also very noisy very annoying to use will give you a headache after a few minutes. My echo is so much more powerful holds better string and is extremly more quiet at least in higher decibles it can still get pretty loud but still.
