Comparison Exmark Walk-Behinds

I will have to agree with Scott on this one. The Metro 26 was heavy and hard to turn, and also underpowered. I wish it had front caster tires to make it easier to turn. I might demo the Exmark Commercial 30 this spring/summer. Unfortunately it has the same engine, but it is supposed to be more compact. :thumbsup: It wasn't a horrible mower, but it wasn't my favorite!
The Commercial 21 might be better than the Metro 26.

Just food for thought. You keep talking about the Mtero 26 and the Exmark 30" along with the Toro Turf Master and there possibly being under powered. Well lets look at the Kawasaki FJ 180 KAI engine keeping in mind these are commercial mowers. The Question is it a or even a commercial engine? Its Designed around tough landscape OEM and user needs V-Twin, air cooled RESIDENTIAL Specialist. Are we even looking at a commercial engine or a residential engine. :confused3oes someone know?

If that's all you are using them for is getting into places your Ztr can't go then I'd say NO there not worth the money. I use the Cub Cadets the 98H and the 999ES with the castor wheels in the front.

there really great mowers once you get use to them i had one that i had for sale and like to never got rid of it everyone that tryed it out didnt like the way it worked but i think there great i didnt finaly sell it and the guy loves it

Does the rear end of it tilt the front in the air when the bag gets heavy?

The times I've used the bag I've never had a problem with the mower tilting. when it's full.

I have used a John Deere self-propelled "push" mower with front caster wheels before. It was heavier than most push mowers so the caster wheels definitely came in handy! But I think if some 21 in. residential mowers have that feature I think a 30 in. HEAVY-DUTY COMMERCIAL mower should, too!
The picture below is like the one I used, but it did not have the Personal Pace feature.

And talking about JD push mowers.....look at this one I found. It reminds me of the Exmark Commercial 30 and the Toro Turfmaster how it has the engine guard. But I see this mower does NOT have the front caster wheels. I think it should, considering it looks heavier than the ones that do have that feature! :confused2:

Well if you don't like the exmark or toro because they are under powered, you're not going to like the JD either because the C52KS, JX90C and the JX 90CB all run the same Kawasaki engine the FJ180V KAI. They do make one with the caster wheels it the JS 63VC John*Deere JS63VC Mulcher Walk-Behind-Mowers
