I also work for a Husqvarna & Stihl dealer (only 1 of 3 left in the country), both brands have budget quality & pro quality, the 395 XP chainsaw is one of my favorite saws as to is MS 660 stihl.
 
I prefer husqvarna over a stihl but i cant say anything bad about either one of them. Other husqvarna seems to put a little more torque in their saws but a good saw is only as good its operator i can outcut just about any other homeowner saw with a poulan lolz my favorite stihl is the old 028 the husky 55 is my favorite of all
 
I would take the Stihl over the Husky. The reason is that the Husky has a design problem in how they route their fuel line. We have replaced way too many fuel lines that are cracked or broken. The reason we feel they break is that there is too much flexing between the engine body and the handle. Maybe you Husky guys have found a solution for this problem that you can share.
 
I can only talk for over here but I find the quality you get in the Husqvarna homeowner product does not justify the price that you have to pay.
The product made in the poulan factory is poor and of course there is the badged engineering from Jonsered, McCulloch which then have different prices depending on what you buy.

Again its the same with Stihl. The price you have to pay for homeowner product is expensive compared to the price you have to pay.
Why buy a Stihl product produced in china when you can buy a chinese produced product for half the price.
It just seems to be brand names people are buying and not good quality product.

I havent found a solution yet....me personally i just take it with a grain of salt and deal with it

Was wondering where the three dealers are, cause I have a dealer just north of me that sells Stihl, Echo and Husqvarna.
 
Hey now that you mention it theres a stihl dealer in my area used to sell husqvarna.....the place is called the saw shop ....
