HI IM RANDY, AND I AQUIRED A 6HP CRAFTSMAN MOWER MOTOR TODAY THAT NEEDS A REBUILD SO I FIGURED I WOULD SEE IF ANYONE KNEW OF ANY GOOD SITES FOR PARTS/ HOW TO'S.

for parts find the model number and put it into sears parts direct since its a craftsman. they make parts for almost everything they sold. my gramps mower is an 83 and they still have parts for it:laughing::thumbsup:

well i want to modify it, i dont know if they make aftermarket parts or what. like a bigger air system, snorkel kit. its going on a kart

Oohhh I didnt know you were putting it on a go kart! sorry. summit racing might have stuff. I personally wouldnt use a push mower engine. I would use a tractor engine like a 12.5 horse briggs.

Hi rangerstepside

Welcome aboard , just wondering where you are from in South Dakota i was born and raised in S.D.. Good luck with your kart motor, any planes to do any racing with it, might need a little bigger one to do that? :licking:

HI Randy and welcome to the forum. If it is a mower motor it probably will not work on a gocart without a lot of modification. Most mowers motors are vertical and most go carts require a horizontal motor. Unfortunately they are not interchangable. Tillers, edgers, generators etc. use horizontal engines although they may need adapting to use on go carts.
