Hi folks, my name is Rich and I am just joining. I have a 27 year old snapper rer 11hp 33 deck which still runs and on duty. Getting a little rough so I just bought a new JD X310 to handle the year round tasks on my half acre property.

I hope your not thinking that this JD will last the 27 years your snapper has. May I ask why you did not just get a new snapper

The snapper is good at leaf mulching, and yes i considered another one. This one still works so i will keep it for that. After 30 years of the estate in the same family, i have a need for a bigger lawn tractor to move stone, and landscape, towing. These are things the snapper is too small to do. I don't expect the JD to last the same, however it is a sweet machine. The price i got it for was very close to a new snapper anyway.

Why do you think the JD can't last 27 years? We have an 18 year old LX178, a minor hydro leak being the only problem, still feels and looks close to new, of course we take care of it.

:welcome: Sounds like you have the perfect combination. You came to the right place to keep your Snapper going and to help your Deere last just as long. Post some pictures of them if you get a chance.
