john deer 180

i run my jd180 for about 1/2 hr and it seems to starve for fuel. i have to keep choking it to get it back to the barn. new fuel filter and air filter. kawasaki fc540v engine. any thoughts

If you remove the fuel line at the carburetor do you get a good flow?

Common problem with old Deere's of that age. The gas cap isn't venting. Try running it with the cap loose or off and see if it starves.
