Trying to replace the discharge guard in back of a hr214 (215 the same) and cannot get a wrench on two bolts that hold it on. Even bent and modified a open end 10mm wrench, but still no love. Only way I see is to grind down the lip behind the bolt on the deck itself. Anyone have a secret method ? TIA

I was having a hard time envisioning what you were talking about. I have that mower but rather than dig it out of storage, I looked at the diagram on PartsTree. Have you seen the special Honda tool part # 99004-21002, on the diagram for the bagging attachments? It looks like a very thin walled socket with a hole to insert a steel dowel or screwdriver for leverage. Could that be what you need?

without a photo no way can I help much. The parts diagram makes it look it is similar to the Toro and the chute is held on with a rod and spring. That said. sometimes a crow foot socket/wench can get in places other things can't.
