Hi,

Hustlers Super Z, 60"

Having trouble finding :
  • Part Number for the Muffler - I am told its a Hustler part, not a Kohler.
  • Alternative to the original part.
The original is a vertical muffler with one inlet hole and one exit. Similar (not the same) in appearance to this Kawasaki;

Hustler Australia say they don't have ant records before 2020 and so far Hustler USA have not responded to my enquiry.

:devilish:

Can you provide the actual model number from the tag. Normally 6 digits, but some have a long model number strings also. So we don't have to dig through 20 some pages of parts manuals trying to find that exact mower with that exact engine setup.

Sorry ILENGINE if I had that information I would have used it myself.

For some strange reason both Hustler & Kohler use stick on Model/Serial Number Labels, rather than punching the details into into metal (like B&S & others do) or using a metal label, riveted to engine/frame (even chainsaws have metal labels)
I can only speculate; someone has at some time, in this mowers life, used a high pressure water jet to clean it and the Model/Serial Numbers have been washed away on both engine & mower frame.
The best I can do is what I have done plus a photo, of what appears to be an identical mower to mine.

If anyone has a Hustler mower, which strongly resembles this one, please give me your Model Number.

Thanks in advance

Okay that helped. Looks very similar to the 927988 that is across the street. look on page 5-18. If correct then the muffler is 788018 and the manifold is 788026. But note that this is a non EFI engine and the 28hp EFI used a different muffler (789123) per the IPL here but the same manifold. From that I would assume the 27hp EFI would use the 28hp EFI muffler.

I can if needed I can upload the IPL to G Drive and send a link if you can't find it.

And now know why I record all my customer's Model/serial numbers when they are still there. It has saved me several times.

And the CV745 EFI is a 28hp and would be CV745-0005 per Kohler for the Excel/Hustler mower

What is on that tag between the coil and the oil cooler. Looks somewhat like a readable model number tag.
