Engine was rebuilt. Bored, new pistons. valves ground and seated. Does not burn any oil. Coils on both cylinders firing. Compression is 100 psi on both cylinders with carburetor full open. Should be around 165 psi I am told. Any thoughts appreciated.
 
Compression most likely won't even fire at 100 psi. Has the engine been started since the rebuild or is this the first start attempt. Most next thought if the engine hasn't been running since the rebuild is the camshaft wasn't properly timed to the crankshaft.

Did you buy this and the seller said it was rebuilt or did you rebuild it?
 
Is the compression release working?

Did you use an automotive compression tester like for a 350 Chevy for example?

OR one for small engines?
