Im having issues with belt jumping off when running into thick grass. What size belt should I buy to run on this to be tight not jump off. Im thinking 1/2 shorter than the original belt. I replaced the pulley and bearing on the pulley that moves back in forth when engaged and disengaged. Belt ripped not sure on size to replace it. Im pretty sure last one someone said go a little shorter than what originally came on them. Please reply

I don't recommend experimenting with belt sizes because that seldom works.
The most common cause for a deck belt to jump of is if the belt pulley guides have been bent back or moved out of position to far away from the pulley.

Get the model number of Troy Bilt mower and look up your correct deck belt size. Verify the correct size from 2-3 different websites. Check all the pulleys and spindles carefully as well as belt guides and good belt tension when engaged.
