Husqvarna High Wheel Weed Wacker. String wont stay on......

Need some help,ideas, to keep the string on my Husqvarna high wheel weed wacker. I also have the same issue with my weed wacker in a Craftsman. Has anyone come up with some type of fix. DIY or found some kind of aftermarket change for the head to keep the string from just sliding out? Thank you for your Ideas and imput.
 
Do you have it routed right ? my craftsman never gives any trouble like this , possibly the wrong size wire ?

Must use the proper gauge trimmer line. The hole that holds the end of line determines the thickness of line.
 
Model numbers would help. We are not there.

I was drove crazy yesterday by a 60+ yr old that didn't want turn his water main line due a hot water flooding his kitchen because he had to wash his hands every so often. He finally broken had me to turn water off. He has 50+ gallon jugs of water for his dogs yet he couldn't wash his hands. I had to show how to wash them using the water jugs. He said never had to do that before and know about. My lord he is a guy with a 50 acre farm.

My hands were covered in dirt too as I had to straighten out the area where the water shutoff is because the idiot plumber sit the access pipe over the shutoff valve handle so it fixed in the on position.
 
I forgot to add the model numbers as I have both Craftsman and Husqvarna. They are both identical in most every aspect other than motor size, Craftsman is a 6.25 the Husqvarna is a 6.75. I have a few screenshots with model # and how the line gets looped in. So far what your talking about sounds like a hand held weed eater, where mine is a mower type high wheel in back. I have the proper size line and I have used smaller line for just light grass works great with any size. but over time I think the built in clips that hold the line now just let them pull out when in coarser grass and weeds etc. So now I am looking for a way to lock them in. My thoughts are to drill 2 holes use a bolt 2 grommet type washers reversed and a strong spring to wrap them around. Problem is I don't think they alone will hold so maybe doubling them and use like a loop around with both ends may work. Any other thoughts welcome

Yes same line I been using for 5 or 6 years maybe longer. I have closed them up some, they still pull out. I also have 155 string with the twist look to it, it might last a minute longer. I could run a tank of gas out in the past years before I run out of line.

You don't just tie a knot in this line. best you get is a big loop. I am going to pull the head off and see if I can place a blade on it. Or try to use a head with the 6 smaller sling blades. I got one on a string weedeater, tough as nails and not yet wore it out after 3 yrs of use along 200 ft of electric fence line. I am also looking into finding a replacement head. Hard to find those. I might find a used parts ww on marketplace. Thanks for the help.
 
Okay I tried it here and it won't work as I thought it would.

At least the new heads here holds the square line pretty darn tight. And the line I have here is .1505 per the caliper. Might be time to replace the head. Getting it off can be a pain due to rust.
