I posted because I was looking to upgrade to another transmission. I don't have the experience to know if TTorq and HydroGear have the bolt up patterns. And I reckon shaft length and placement will be key. Surely someone has swapped a used TT for a T2 at some time. Appreciate the input.
I was not turning it very fast. Original problem was I got on a slope and kinda high-centered. Left rear was not touching so I swung my weight over it. I think I heard a clunk. I got off and pulled it to where it was flat ground and then had no movement. A friend dragged me to my carport and the rear wheels were pretty much locked up. So first I tried turning the fan above the trans body and wheels didn't move. So then I took the brake apart and cleaned it up so I could take that concern out of the equation. Now, with wheels up I can turn one and the other spins the other way. I think I've read this is normal. I'm troubleshooting the tightness of the drive belt next since I have the deck off and mower on a come-along suspended., Any input on testing would be appreciated. If I do have to replace the trans I was hoping to find a used one that I could swap into mine. But I want to be sure it would work before I dropped any more cash into it. Thx

Personal experience has taught me that changing transaxles on riding mowers need to have the right one swap, or you are going to have problems. Modifications turn into nightmares that don’t always work also.
Yeah, I've swapped a lot of stuff on machines over the years, but not riding mowers. And my experience is the same as yours
. I once had the juice for modifying. Now I just want to keep it simple. Thx
