Just curious did you figure out what the problem is? The only thing I could think of that might help is if you have a thermal gun start the mower and just see what the temperature is it's the exhaust pipe when it shuts down to tell others here


Had a similar problem with m LX176 about 5-6 years ago. Replaced the coil. Same problem. Replaced the chip. Repaired.Starts and runs great, then shuts down immediately. I replaced the coil and then bypassed the seat cut off switch, still no luck.. Thinking maybe I got a bad coil. it's a B&S 33R877 in a Craftsman tractor mower, 8 years old.
