Does Husqvarna publish service manuals and parts lists?
I own a couple riding mowers and need to read up on how to service them. I can't find any published service manuals for Husqvarna!! I'm retired and new at this
 
google the model number and also check on the manufacturer site. I get their owner manuals all the time that have parts lists in them. Also, for almost as long as I can recall, companies charge for service manuals. Basic stuff like belt changes etc., are often in the owner's manual. Engine information is usually from the engine manufacturer and not the company that sells the whole thing.
 
Some of this I understand. I'm old school, and would like to review what I'm getting into prior to starting. The diagrams found at The supply houses are to hard to use as a blue print for bearing sizes or other details.
Example: I dropped off a riding mower to get a head start on spring. I requested a cleaning of the Nikki carb and check the transmission belt. They came back with a $1200 estimate for repairing the deck, two spindles and blades with a tune up!
I could replace bearings at home, i just wanted to know what bearings to buy. The manual shows a stamped deck and no info for the fabricated deck.

The repair shop never reviewed the carb. I had noticed gas getting into the oil, (possibly bad float or needle letting gas through) I will add a shut off to the gas line.
Im just getting use to forums, a lot of good people out there.

This Kawasaki with the dual cylinders was a big surprise for me. I never cleaned a carb with so much stuff in the way. It backed me up, I've only cleaned simple stuff like a snow blower. That is why I was looking for more info.
Now living on a fixed income and looking to save money when I can.
 
Hi John,

Don't waste your time or money with dealer or independent small engine repair shops. The techs have no training and mostly guess and throw new parts at everything.

Don't get me wrong, there are a few 1-man operations that really know what they are doing, but they are getting harder to find.

For parts, I suggest Parts tree or even eBay if you have the correct part number. Jacks small engine is another good source.

Just remember that you have to use the engine product ID label for any engine related parts and most other parts will require using the chassis product label located under the seat or on the seat mount frame
 
John check your inbox for the closest SM I have on file for the YTH. And currently I don't have a SM on the TS but I do some digging on this end.

I watch James Condon and Donyboy73 on youtube, they both are so good at sharing details and close up filming, it is driving me to learn.
This forum is better then a few,others I visited, so many just guess and or have attitudes that can be difficult to deal with.

I'm hoping to get started with the YTH1542XP with a Kawasaki FH430V 954568465 the freezing cold garage is holding me back a bit.

This mower ran great for three years, last fall it started smoking when I started it in the cold and used the choke. I found gas was getting in the oil so I did an oil change. I was on a waiting list when I sent it for a carburetor clean and rebuild and that is how all this started. They picked it up and I waited my turn in line for them to review it. A long the way they never gave me much of a chance to explain the issues. They assumed I wanted everything looked at. They never got to the carburetor, they called with the huge estimate and never looked at the carb.
That was why I was looking for manuals to learn from. The dual cylinder engine is more than I understood and hear I am trying to get the confidence to tackle this.
