PTO switch wiring

I tested the continuity for both positions and everything tested fine. The part I’m hung up on is this:

There is a red wire in pin C2 or top middle that leads out to nowhere. I’ll attach a picture of the connector it goes to, but there is nowhere for this connector to plug in. Adjacent to the red wire from that connector is an orange wire that goes to a 30amp fuse, then to the PTO switch top right, then to the hour meter. I’d assume the red wire is supposed to be the 12v in to the PTO switch but I’m not sure.
I would say you are missing the relay for that electrical connector

Yes it is a relay connector but there is a problem. Only two wires. Either the control, the controlled, or a combination of the circuit wires is missing as there got to be four wires at least or that simply can't work.

Looks like a DIYer has made some mods.

I am thinking it could be the white and black loose wires in the OP's 4th picture in the original post

Maybe but it would require hand tracing the harness. I hate MTD attitude about providing wiring diagrams. Maybe they are a National Super Top Secret and hid in a Mar-a-Lago bathroom.

I look at MTD not supplying wiring dagrams normal considering they can't even give you a part number for the wiring harness on a lot of models. Or when you contact tech support looking for a part number for a relay. And told that model doesn't use relays when you are staring at 3.
