This is an older post but I bought the R22x in February. I also have an R21. The R22x is a slightly bigger machine and it does ride better that the single wheel R21 and R22. One major flaw that I’ve had with the R22x and that’s the Kohler 7000 and the auto choke system and more specifically the electric thermostat. Walker put the muffler (due to the design) right behind the carb and a heat sensitivite thermostat that controls the auto choke (so close you cannot remove the carb until you remove the muffler). I’ve had nothing but troubles with it, even after Kohler sent me a new carb/auto choke assembly. I only have 16 hours on the machine. I’ve spent countless hours researching and have since converted it to a manual choke and spend more money doing it. Machine is A+, the Kohler 7000 auto choke is a junk system. I’m sure the R22 isn’t any different. Funny though, my R21 has 90 hours on it (same auto choke but Kohler 6600) and has never stumbled at start up, hot or cold. I know how to convert to manual if it starts to act up.
