I have a Broadmoor with a 38” deck that is having engine issues. Just picked up a slightly newer Broadmoor with a 44” deck. The deck on the 44” has the electric adjustment and everything on it needs to be gone through, rebuilt. Can I put the 38” deck on the mower with the 44” deck and use it. The 38” deck mower has a 16hp Vanguard engine and the other has a 22hp B&S Professional engine. Thanks in advance for responding.

Swapping decks is usually not that easy. You won’t know until you try.
I can't speak for the newer models but on my 7116, I can swap between the larger 48" deck and the 44" it came with with no issues.
It will depend on the mounting style and pulley location on both decks. On the older models the deck trailed off the front axle, and hung from two brackets at the rear with the pully in the same place on both decks.
Swapping between AC and Simplicity wasn't always that easy though.
