when the deck gets loaded the motor seems to bog, like it needs fuel. just got it, my old one was 21hp & never had an issue with this situation. this one a 22 hp struggles under load (uphills too). dont see a power screw on the carb . anybody ever jet one up ?? common problem? 150 hours, clean air & fuel filters. no crap in bowl or existing jet. thanks in advance

Export threadafter some ball scratchin' im gonna start with plugs. it bogs but if you slow down it'll pick back up, seems like fuel but i'll see after i change 'em. definitly hittin' on both holes but mabee under load it ain't. thanks i'll keep ya posted.If this is a twin cylinder engine check to see if both cylinders are firing. When you report back be sure to include all engine numbers.

Back blow the fuel supply line from the tank. These lines collect debris over time and gradually starve the engine for enough ful to work, especially under load.
Also check the crankcase pulse line from the valve cover to the pulse fuel pump for any cracking. They do crack with age and will do the same thing.
Ultimately, the fuel tank needs to be removed for a proper washing out, then reinstalled.

thanks, still waitin' on plugs but looked at all that. mower not old , fuel filter is clean as is the tank. although the way it acts i still think fuel is the issue. my old wheel horse thats used in spring & fall for leaves has a power screw that needs tweaked every now & then acts the same way which is why im leanin' in that direction. if plugs dont fix it this carb will have one too till im done.
Failed plugs do happen, but, hardly ever fix anything. Clean yours and check them for spark before pulling the credit card.still waitin' on plugs
Hope you didn't get on Scamazon and get plugs. They are highly cloned items (NGK and AC Delco). Go to a real auto parts store.

Normally need to jet down using a high altitude main. Most of the worn out mowers I get are rich runners with new air filters, choke wide open and clean fuel systems.anybody ever jet one up ??
Do you have mice chewing wires at your house? I would pull the top engine shroud and look around if so.
