Generac GC8000e float bowl bolt

Spoke with generac customer service who relayed that its a “generac” engine that was designed on an old honda motor….

Sounds like it maybe an outsourced "Harbor Freight" style clone engine (Generac just put their name on it). A lot of companies are doing that these days.

There are some wild engineering copies being used to minimize production costs and maximize profits. The quality is in the toilet, but the retail prices keep going up.

All of the single cylinder engines used on Generac products are rebranded engines. The V-twin is the only Generac built engine.

Just in case you weren't aware Generac owns DR.
 
Generac Holdings Inc. is a huge "umbrella" worldwide venture that owns many familiar brand names.

Generac acquired DR as a "subsidiary" around 2015
