I will try the second link on the chains. Will the rollers reach the ground? I understand about the bar and adjusting front deck height. Rollers are in good shape as the unit only has 77 hours. This is a new to me Prestige. Got into it initially because I was looking for a 4x4 for snowblowing. My old early 90s Broadmoor had the crank to adjust deck height, and it worked great!
Hi bk10s,

The rollers are only to assist the deck on uneven ground and negotiate sudden high spots. They are known as anti-scalping rollers, and the deck is not designed or intended to constantly roll on them.

That is why the deck actually "free floats" and is suspended on the lift chains.

The rollers can be lowered down if you prefer but give the chains adjustment a try first. From the sound of this you will be cutting high enough that scalping will not be an issue.

Incorrect. The simplicity deck is designed for the rear roller shaft to ride on the ground. They are not anti scalp rollers. The chains are attached to the lift arms to raise the deck to the transport position.

Does this design have sealed roller bearings on the deck rollers?

It does not have sealed bearings. The rollers just spin on the axle shaft.

Thanks for your reply. These do not ride on the ground constantly, as I stated before. Take up the slack in your lift chains by 1 link.

Do this by placing a couple of boards under the deck edge on each side while the deck is lift as high as it can currently go. Once the boards are in place, hit the lowering button and the chain will slacken so you can adjust the 1 end link out.

If you are unsure of this consult your dealer or a general mechanic if you happen to know any.

The chains are not attaced to the electric deck lift. They are attaced to the lift mechanism to raise to the transport position. The electric lift motor is connected to the rear roller shaft to raise and lower it to adjust the cut height. I have worked on lots of these simplicity mowers. the rear roller shaft is designed to ride on the ground

I have a 50" electric lift deck (1695392) on a Prestige (2691130-00). The maximum that the cutting height can be raised is to 2.5". Is there a way to get this cutting height raised higher? I like to keep the grass longer.
Air up tires to specs.,

LESSON LEARNED.....DON'T ASSUME.

I have owned several Broadmoors over the years, beginning with a 728 that I bought new and still own. So, this is a new to me Prestige with 37 hours. Regarding the deck height, I was focusing my efforts on the rollers and electric deck lift. I ASSUMED that the deck was set up properly front-to-back. I was WRONG. When I finally checked it, I learned that the front tip of the middle blade was actually over 1" LOWER than the rear tips of the side blades. When I set it up correctly with the front tip of the middle blade .25" higher that the rear tips of the side blades, I was able to achieve the cutting height that I was looking for. I made a mistake by thinking that the PO had the deck set up properly. Thank you to all!!!

P.S. I'm one of the ones that understands how Simplicity decks work!!
