Good afternoon!
Iam having trouble removing the starter - so that I can install a new one. Does anyone have any tips on how to get to the bolts and what tool is needed? I can’t even see them. Thanks in advance. It’s an IS 500z. 44 inch cut Briggs and Stratton engine
A long T40 bit or T wrench can be use to remove the starter without having to remove the shroud, Just make the stator wire and clip is in place as you the new starter. Just got to make sure the starter Bendix flats is in position.
Warning...Don't let this clip get pulled under the flywheel or it will destroy the stator and possibly the flywheel magnets.

Take the top cover off the engine. Most of the engines have a half inch headed bolt with a torques star in the center of the bolt head.
