STX 38 starting

So far I've changed the ignition switch, PTO switch and solenoid - all brand new. The starter checks out ok. Turn the key and nothing happens. If I turn the key on and place a screwdriver across solenoid bolts it starts right up and runs perfect. I don't know what to look at next?

two merge images but this is the wiring schematic. Second image show the cranking circuit. Now the Brake/Clutch must be fully depressed IE ON position for starting.
