Near New 625 EX Won't Start - SOLVED

Good spark. Sprayed starter fluid in carb and still not trying to start. Safety handle pulled and working correctly. Compression OK. Worked fine one week and next time I went to use I get nothing. What's next to try? Thanks in advance for any help.

CRAFTSMAN M220 150-cc 21-in Gas Push Lawn Mower with Briggs & Stratton Engine From Lowe's is the exact mower.​

If you spraying starter fluid in the carb and it is still not firing, most likely you have no spark.
remove the top engine cover (blower housing) locate the ignition coil, you'll see it. there is a small black Kill wire hooked to a connector on the coil. Unplug that wire. reinstall the blower housing and try to start.
if it starts with that kill wire unplugged,the coil is being shorted to ground and killing any spark, most likely rubbed insulation on the wire or an issue with the Kill/Flywheel brake assembly.
If it DOES NOT start with that wire unplugged, the ignition coil is bad.

Unplugged and still nothing. When I pull out plug and pull I get a very strong spark with the plug resting against the mower. Could it still be the ignition coil if i get good spark? I tested with 2 plugs with same results.
 
Ok, probably not the coil...
remove the spark plug, and spray some starting fluid right into the plug hole ,reinstall the plug & wire and try to start.

Still nothing. Sprayed on hole. Tried and not even one pop. Pulled plug again and it is sparking. I don't get it. Oil level is good just in case there was a oil level kill switch.
 
hmmm,
it could be as simple as a bad spark plug... sometimes the plug will spark outside the engine, but it won't overcome the high compression pressures in the cylinder.
I also wonder if it could be a valve problem, i.e., intake valve not opening, possibly.

Tried two plugs. Same results. Will check the valves next. I just adjusted the valves on an old t1000 riding mower. Compression was fine at 45 or 50 I think. Thanks for throwing ideas out there.
