Condition of soil

Is there an easier way to check the nutrients of your soil besides the test kits they sell? Where I live, the soil is very bad.

Your county extension will tell you how to take samples and they will test it... (usually for free) ... :smile:KennyV

Okay, I really hate to sound stupid, but what is a county extension? I can honestly say I have never heard of it before. I apologize if it is a stupid question.
