I started riding uprights or Diamond frames in 1974, I switched to riding my bents about 12 years ago. The wife retired Friday so I hope over the winter that the wife and can get back on the Greenspeed and do some touring around the state, maybe go for a week or so at a time but that's just hoping.

1973-1974 thats when i started riding uprights. in my case the tall schwinn continental 10 gear, and helped start our bike club which still runs today.Back in the day i was doing a lot of road rides including a few 100 mile/day rides.not no more though ,those days are done. i just got a 'crank forward' to see if i would like a full bent or not. now-a-days the wife and i just putz all the local trails(we have a lot here) we max out about 20 miles/day and 8-11mph .....keep peddling and make a tour

Recumbents

...which would be those lay-down bikes you usually see packs of yuppies on?

I like 'fake' Rolexes, and I like 'real' watchmaking. After what I've been through the last month, that's all that's left - not even mowers or R/C helis anymore. :frown:

Again Twall your post tells me you know absolutely nothing about what you talk about, If you did you would know that yuppies will have nothing to do with a recumbent.

'Twas sarcasm - not that you know what that is. You're too serious for your own good.

Once again, Ric, your post tells me you are looking for any excuse to get offended, know-it-allish, and/or use an oddball smiley.

Woodworking, metal fabricating most recently a flywheel puller, and a tool to hold it while you re-tighten the flywheel nut. Nothing fancy just something to do the job...
