can you unscrew an fc 55's bottom part and pop it onto an fs 130 as kind of like a gear box type thing?

I would think so. I have a fs90 gearbox on my fs55, and it seems to work fine.

The tube diameter and shaft are the same, correct?

yes, they fit nicely. you don't think it wouldn't hurt the engine then?

No, looks like the r.p.m.s are fairly close, and the fs130 will have more than enough power.
