31 vs 32?

I was at my Scag dealer and was looking at a couple machines and found that one had a Vanguard 31 and the other had a Vanguard 32 whats the difference? I one better than the other is one newer technology?

You might consider that,most mowers have a vertical shaft engine, there is a simple reason.....
