What kind of tree is this?

I have moved into a new house and was trying to determine what was in my flower beds. I want to make sure I take appropriate care of them. I need help finding out what kind of tree this is.

Kinda looks like some type of ornamental pear. A closer picture of the leaves would be very helpful.
 
Looks like one you need to take out while it's small. In front of your window and so close to the house, not sure if you want that when it matures.
 
I will post a closer picture of the leaves. In the meantime, any ideas on what might go good there in place of that tree if it does get too big?

I agree, that tree/bush might be a biggie when/if it matures.You could maybe just keep it cut low and leave it that way,or if you yank it out,maybe look at a small fountain or other concrete figurine. and then blend it in with a sitting area on the front porch if room allows for it. its kind of hard to idea the front of the house with limited picture you have
 
I may work on lawn equipment now but I also have a B.S. Forestry from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Just for everybodies info not boasting.
 
ILENGINE there is nothing wrong with boasting when you have earned it. Would you say it is an ornamental dogwood? How and when do I trim it?
