My sincere congratulations...and don't laugh, but I had NO IDEA you were still in high school. Agree with Kenny 100%, I hope you can afford to continue your education. I dropped out of college after my first semester, didn't know what I wanted to study or do for a living.

And you know what? I will turn 60 in two months, and I still don't know what I want to do for a living.

My older nephew will graduate from college next year, he has known what he wants to do for a living for some time now. I truthfully feel that his continued education helped him set a goal in life. When I dropped out of college, I told my dad I thought continued schooling was a waste of my time.

His response: "Son, no time spent in learning or serious study is EVER wasted". He was very wise.

Thanks guys. High School was just the first step in my goals. Next year I will be taking a welding course at the local tech school. The year after that I will be going to Wake Tech taking the two year John Deere Tech program. After the program I am guaranteed a job with John Deere.:biggrin:

I was unaware that Deere had such a program, it's wonderful that you are choosing to learn a trade, especially one with such a promising future....I was a self-taught tradesman much of my career, and still wonder how far I could have advanced had I applied myself to learning more.

Thanks noma. Both trade schools are right in this area. The one I will be attending for welding is in the same county as me. The one for the John Deere program is one county over. So I get to go home every night.

I am going to try to stay out of trouble this weekend but I can't make any promises.
