pto clutch

Helping a buddy working on 1968 102 cub cadet. Two questions how to ajust pto clutch and are the spring clips that fit on top of clutch needed? I don't know if former owner worked on this or not but there missing. Thanks!
 
As I recall the adjustment is pretty obvious, I remember the wear button was a common replacement item on them.
 
I still don't know how to ajust it by the lever on internal? I took it apart and cleaned it up and clutch didn't look that bad. Thanks!
