Ave you ever cut a yard that you made a mess out of?

We cut one week before last that I was ashamed of. It was the first time to cut it. Probably our last. It was a yard that it was obvious that they kept pretty short. I dropped the deck to 2 1/4" which is low. I have cut yards that low numerous times although I normally cut them 2 1/2 or slightly higher. There were many places in the yard that were scalped.
I honestly did not realize how it looked till I finished and looked back over it. I think we cut about 30 yards that same week. No problems on any others.

The only thing that I can figure would have caused this was a front tire slightly low and the yard was rough.

I think you answered your own question. Had the same problem only mine was a rear tire and had to slow way down.

I cut a yard 2 years ago that I got from a friend that went out of business......lady told me that parts of it needed to be cut higher so it would not scalp.....yard has ridges that are the result of poor landscaping and rain.......raised the deck and it still scalped in spots.....I told her to look at it and if she was not satisfied then don't send a check......she never did and I turned her over to another grasscutter who cut her yard twice and gave it up because the yard was just too rough for his mower.....high dollar subdivision but little thought or money spent on yard preparation......told my son the developer built these houses to sell them not to live in them

Get the lawn extra wet and take a 400 pound roller to it. Let it dry then maintain

If the customer can stand the yard we can take the 326 Kubota and it will be much leveler after a very few cuttings. The deck is like a dozier blade. It will, look real ugly though.
