mower wont stay running

I have a craftsman lawn tractor model 917.272350 when I release the clutch to move the tractor dies if I have the clutch pedal in and engage the blades it dies..help please...tractor is 13 years old has it's moments but still working

Dose it stop running because of no power or like you turn a switch off?
