Know what would suck buying a really expensive mower in hopes you'll get enough customers to pay for it. Then either you don't get enough customers or a drought hits or something silly

Well to begin with you don't and nobody's telling you to spend 25K on equipment. You can spend half that and have really nice Commercial stuff. The individual I had working with me just did that same thing, he spent 13k on equipment without a client. Two weeks later he has 19 and by the end of March I look to see him running at least 30 if not a few more. If you have the equipment it can bring you clients.

In our part of the world there are not that many yards less than a half acre. Therefore a push/walk behind mower is out of the question to compete. I bought Kubota zero turns with zero down and zero interest. Then I paid cash for my trailer and other equipment. It looks like we are going to start up with about 34 yards and hopefully can double that number. We are outside of a town of 500 or so. One town within 8 miles of 5500 or so. Every where here you have to drive a distance to work... Every are of the country has different variables.

The problem with that is the fact you will spend three times the money upgrading rather than just getting the proper equipment to do the job the first time. Its like the guys who want to be a Ham Radio operators and buy a dozen CB radios to get there and for every one of those wannabes 1 out of 10 actually makes the grade, all the others ever do is waste there time playing on the Children's Band.

I don't know how many hours, but it definitely got a workout! It performed well on the snow "boulders" at the ends of the driveways that were just as tall as the machine. During a snowstorm I work for anywhere between maybe 3 and 8 hours, the majority of the time with the snowblower. The trailer works great.....even in the snow.

I sometimes want a ZTR, but it would be useless. Almost all my clients have gates and yards less that 4000-5000 square feet. Probably like 3000 square feet. It gets done real fast with a 21".
I would like a Toro 30" or walk behind 32"-36" instead.
