If you could start all over again

I run an echo 210 and 225 daily both are great. I like the feel and way they work better than stihl they may not have or offer as much power but unless I'm cutting trees down with them I don't see why that matters. Taking care of residential yards echo is where it's at
 
This is a never ending war that will never have a winner.

All the op is doing is his own little yard. Get a ryobi and be done with it. With the money you will save you can get a snapper mower.

Whatever you buy, make one of them pro grade. Then in three years do the same thing. Eventually u will have a lifetime's worth of equipment. Regarding the cheap stuff; it worked for me when I could not afford Anything better. But trying to START the cheap power equipment!! On my God!!! Never again! I have Exmark and Stihl now and life is extremely comfortable.

He has 2k to spend he doesn't need to buy anything low end.

Craftsman is low end
Mtd (home light, murray, troy bilt, much more) is low end
Ryobi is low end (sorry carscw it is considered low end even if you have good luck)
John deere is low end

Some toro is low end
Some toro is middle grade

Honda is middle grade
Echo is middle grade
Shindawna (spelling) is middle grade
Husqvarna (spelling) is middle grade

some stihl is middle grade
Some stihl is high end

Commercial grade equipment is high end.

Pretty simply put many many more brands are catagorized as mtd. And for 2000 he can afford a nice set of equipment this is why I recommend a honda he will get years of use if he maintains properly they are easy to use and for .5 acre more than enough mower. He could get a echo pas of any power head will do good for his garage space one machine to maintain and use. The attachments he could get all now or one at a time over time as he needs them. These two machines coupled with a hand held blower and he will be in good shape. He really doesn't need anything more high end than that unless he's going to be putting tons of hours on them or beating the hell out of them. He doesn't need cheap crap he needs to replace over time because his starting budget is more than enough for good stuff. He says he went with a hrx and a stihl multi tool he's in good shape.

.... really? Its really not that big I do .5 acres all day long in ideal conditions I could weed eat mow edge and blow in half an hr :/ I wouldn't ride a .5 acre lot I only ride 1.5 acre lots and that's because it would be silly not to I mean I have a crappy murray rider it fits on my trailer I have 4 accounts with big enough yard to use it on and they are big square and flat.

Besides its self propelled its not really hard just cardio. And having a 21 lines looks better than bigger lines most of the time. I know my 21 looks better than my 40

I mow a 0.41 acre lot on a regular basis and a 0.43 and also 0.50 acre lots once and awhile.

I don't always insist on High end equipment, but Yeah I insist on high end equipment that gets used on a daily basis because when your actually doing lawn care you need to have equipment that works and be able to do any job that a client wants done. You say I only ride 1.5 acre lots and that's because it would be silly not to I mean I have a crappy Murray rider and you think your making money when in reality it's costing you money? You and LMF want everyone to by Honda and Echo because you don't know any better.
