Why do so many people cut there grass this short?
I will guess about 75% of the yards I cut next door to cut there grass right down to the dirt.

This guy has nice weed free grass ( the one on the left ) I cut the HUD home on the right ( all weeds ) and looks better.

No don't think that's it he cuts it every week.
I even see lawn care guys doing it

That's even worse. I cut at 3 in or longer if lawn is getting scalped.

In our area, most people cut at 3 inches, but some cut at around 2.5". But I can't think of ANY reason why you would cut at like 0.5" like that guy did. And it's a professional?? :confused3:

I don't think it's Laziness, I don't believe they know any better. Now that being said it also depends on what type of grass you're cutting as to what height it needs to be.

my parents cut there grass way to short for my taste to i cut at 3.5 inches and they cut it to the dirt but the reason they do that is my mom is deathly affraid of snakes and wants to see whats in the yard when shes out in the grass
