Engine troubles. Please Help!

Hi,
I have a simplicity conquest 23hp 50 inch deck lawn mower. The tractor is running funny. It bogs down when you hit the gas and backfires at idle. the fuel filter has a couple drops of gas in it. I replaced the fuel pump and filter, replaced the spark plugs, and cleaned the carb! i dont get why its running weird. Me and my dad got a zero turn so i will be using this around the yard to haul dirt, wood, etc.

First thing I would check is the fuel bowl on the carb for water, thats what it sounds like. good luck
