I've a problem with the engine dying when I engage the PTO, I tested the PTO and it's good but there's a diode In the wiring harness to the PTO. It's cracked but still ohms out ok (one way pass, other way resistance 7k ohms). I can't read the part number, do anyone know the part number and what's it do?

USE 1N5407-G

It's there because when the pto is turned off, the collapsing electric field within the coil causes a big, large surge of current and voltage, which causes problems w the electric system. The diode stops it.

Unplug the PTO from the harness, then check to see if it will keep running. This favors a safety switch issue.

The PTO clutch diode is there to prevent a voltage spike back into the harness when the electric PTO is disengaged.

Star Tech gave you a parts source, but you need to make sure it installed the same direction as the old one for it to work properly, or the PTO clutch may not work.

That problem favors a seat safety switch issue. A person has to be sitting on the seat to allow PTO activation.

All safety switches are closed (control arms, seat) I'm sitting on the seat and it dies when pto switch engaged. I've tested the seat safety and it checks good, I'm at a lost.

We need the number information off of the product label (usually under the seat) so we can reference how this machine is wired.

Is it a V-twin engine or a single cylinder engine?
