Hello I recently bought my first zero turn 60” z950m (used). I have a question regarding the chute as it is blocked off. I have about 5 acres to mow. The guy I bought from said it mulches so I should add a chute but something seems odd about the deck.
Can someone please guide me to the things I need to add a chute.

Nothing actually wrong except the blades are well past their use by date and the deck could do with a bit of panel beating and some welding.
However GATORS should never be used with a mulching plate fitted
They are designed to lift, chop then throw not lift chop & drop
Because I use Oxy on a deck like that I would heat & beat the sides back into shape, weld where possible then weld a brace around the outside fitted to the curve
For this I use old blades , heated red hot, flattened out then tacked on one end then again heated red hot and forged to shape around the deck , tacking every couple of inches.
When final shape is done then a full weld right around the lower edge and a couple of tacks on the top.

That sort of damage is indicative of a deck that gets hung up on the trailer because the ramp is too short .

Considering the price of the Mulching deck Bert and I both would spend some time repairing this beast.

Definitely would make sure it is a complete deck and not just a shell.
